Tinsukia Municipal Board is one of the oldest municipality of Assam.The municipality is the board that manages the town of Tinsukia. All the defferrent departments that come under Tinsukia administration are managed to be run smoothly and systematically by the Tinsukia Municipal Board. The municipal Board of Tinsukia is responsible for the total satisfaction of the society in terms of its administrative duties and responsibilities. It is the Tinsukia Municipal Board that take care of all these of the society. Tinsukia Municipal Board, with population of about 99 thousand is Tinsukia sub district's only municipal board located in Tinsukia sub district of Tinsukia district in the state Assam in India. Total geographical area of Tinsukia municipal board is 20 km2. Population density of the city is 5097 persons per km2. There are 20 wards in the city, among them Tinsukia Ward No 15 is the most populous ward with population of about 14 thousand and Tinsukia Ward No 12 is the least populous ward with population of 852.
